One of the greatest titles ever; Exit Through The Gift Shop is an intriguing documentary about street art. It goes beyond just showcasing amazing street artists and their work, but the film dives deeper into a story of one man's ability to make a mockery out of the movement. Banksy does an outstanding job of leaving the opinions and judgments up to the viewer, but by the end of the film his point is clearly painted.

During the 1960’s Serge Gainsbourg wrote songs that were preformed by the teen pop singer France Gall. Gainsbourg is known for his riske lyrics but at the time one of the songs he wrote for Gall, “Les Sucettes” (“Lollipops”) had strong sexual references and double meanings that were unknown to Gall at the time she recorded and performed it. France Gall thought the song was about a girl enjoying lollipops when in actuality it was about oral sex. She wasn’t to happy when she found out the real meaning of the song while on tour.

Awesome song though, Serge you are a sly devil.

Here are a couple pairs of vintage Ray Ban's that I've never seen before and they're quite cool.

This is the Gatsby, and I'm venturing to guess you know where the name comes from, but I think F. Scott Fitzgerald probably envisioned something close to these styling frames.

This is the Asbury Le Mans, another cool driving type frame with an interesting color scheme. Le Mans is a city in France, known for it's 24hr sports car races.

Sangria
I was in Barcelona about a year ago, sitting in a bar on the beach enjoying the beautiful sun, sand, Spanish skin and the amazing fruit and wine concoction called Sangria. I don’t know if anything can quite match that, but I guess I can start by whippin up a batch of the magic potion, sittin in the sun and lettin myself slide into a dream of the sweet life.

Ingredients:
1 bottle inexpensive dry Spanish
1/2 cup triple sec
1/4 cup brandy
1 1/2 cups fresh orange juice
1/4 cup simple Syrup or superfine sugar
1 1/2 cups diced fruit, such as green apples (peeled) and oranges and lemons (diced with their peels)
Ice cubes
Chilled club soda

Mix together the wine, Triple Sec, brandy, orange juice, simple syrup, and fruit in a medium-size pitcher. Refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours to macerate the fruit in the wine. When ready to serve, add the ice cubes, and club soda to taste. Taste for sweetness, adding more syrup, as necessary.

For a future creative ad person like myself, hearing the methods behind their designs got me really excited to jump into the creative world(primarily George Lois, a god in my opinion). The Mint Julep
The Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, and whether you’re sitting in millionaires row with a100 grand on the 50-1 shot or on a puke-stained couch betting your roommate one of the jockeys’ hits the dirt, it’s time to get the drink right.

Ingredients

· mint
· 1 teaspoon sugar
· 3 ounces fine Kentucky bourbon

Place 5 or 6 leaves of mint in the bottom of a pre-chilled glass. Add sugar and crush slightly with a muddler or a wooden spoon if you’re not fancy enough to have a muddler. Pack the glass with crushed ice and pour in 3 ounces of bourbon over the ice and stir. Garnish with a few additional sprigs of mint. Put on a nice hat, a seersucker suit and watch your life saving disappear in 2 minutes. Cheers!

Nordeast
When Northern and Eastern European immigrants came to Minnesota the majority of them settled in Northeast Minneapolis where they found work in the grain mills and sawmills along the river and later in rail and factory jobs around the city. Among the Europeans were the Polish, who had a prominent influence on Minneapolis life and culture, namely the term “Nordeast” which was how the Minneapolis neighborhood was pronounced with their accent. In 1893 Grain Belt beer was first introduced to the hard working class of Nordeast and shortly after prohibition, the famous Grain Belt sign was built on Nicollet Island to honor this wonderful beer and to this day the sign has been a Minneapolis land mark.

The Nordeast beer from Grain Belt Brewing is a salute to Northeast Minneapolis and all the people who made it what it is today. The special beer was debuted yesterday when the first case was delivered to Surdyk's Liquor store at 8 am in Nordeast Minneapolis. Piña Colada
Get ready for summer by memorizing this recipe; so when you get banned from the swim-up bar for throwing fruit at the bar tender you can make em your self.

Ingredients
Piña Colada

* 2 1/2 ounces golden rum
* 3 ounces pineapple juice
* 1 ounce coconut cream

Combine rum, pineapple juice, and coconut cream in a blender. Add about a cup of ice or so and blend on high until it's as smooth as the jazz from Kenny G's saxophone. Pour into a glass, garnish with some fruit, and hit the beach. Cheers!

* 2 ounces vodka/ or white rum
* 2 or 3 ounces cranberry juice
* 1/2 ounce lime juice
* club soda

Pour vodka (or rum) into a Collins glass, add cranberry juice , the juice of half a lime or so and ice cubes. Top off with club soda and Garnish with a slice of lime and/or a sprig of mint. Cheers Sailor!

Zombie
Wake up from the grave and join the living dead by sucking down a half dozen of these and you'll be walking and taking like a real zombie.

Ingredients
Zombie

* 1/2 ounce white rum
* 1 1/2 ounces golden rum
* 1 ounce dark rum
* 1/2 ounce 151-proof rum
* 1 ounce lime juice
* 1 teaspoon pineapple juice
* 1 teaspoon papaya juice
* 1 teaspoon superfine sugar

Stir together all these ingredients except the 151. Float the 151 as a lid (by pouring it into a spoon and gently dipping it under the surface of the drink). Then light it on fire-this awakes the zombie spirit. Garnish by impaling a lemon slice or pineapple cube between two maraschino cherries and lay this fruit kabob atop of the drink. You might want to blow out the fire now, unless you're a real zombie

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, March 17th to be exact, and even if you’re not the slightest bit Irish it’s still time to celebrate, by drinking until you pass out on the bar floor like the true Irish would do.

Ingredients
· 1oz measure Irish whiskey
· 1oz measure Drambuie
· 1/2oz measure lemon juice
· Ginger ale
· Twist of Lemon peel

Shake the Irish whiskey, Drambuie, lemon juice and ginger ale vigorously over ice cubes until frosted and strain into a highball glass with ice cubes. Garnish with a twist of lemon. After 8 of these, get up on the bar and dance like a Leprechaun. Cheers!

The Hurt Locker
For some reason I had never been drawn to contemporary war films, maybe because I didn’t think a movie about the war in Iraq could stand up with Vietnam classics like Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, and The Deer Hunter. But after watching The Hurt Locker I quickly realized, this film can stand with the best and it’s damn good! The Hurt Locker takes you on a suspenseful ride along side a bomb squad in Iraq as they travel the country risking their lives with every step they take. This is not only a film that keeps you on the edge of your seat, it has a captivating story, excellent cinematography, and an overall feeling of innovation and originality that Hollywood films desperately need. Congratulations Hurt Locker on all your Academy Awards, they are well deserved.

The weather is starting to warm up and mother nature is teasing us with a flash of spring, but even though we can probably count on some more bad weather, spring is in sight, so why not break out the rum? This drink is appropriately named for what we can most likely expect in the coming months, the dark and stormy weather of April that will bring us the fruits and flowers of May.

Ingredients

· 2 ounces dark rum
· 3 ounces or so, ginger beer
· 1/2 a lime
Combine the rum, the ginger beer, and the lime juice, in a tall glass full of ice cubes. Stir, and enjoy waiting a couple months until you can be drinking these babies poolside. Cheers!

Earlier today, as my attention drifted away from the painful internet job search, I reluctantly found myself reaching for the remote to flick on the television; a routine I’m unfortunately all to familiar with. Luckily, Anthony Bourdain, No Reservations was on; actually it’s not luck at all because I know his show comes on at noon every weekday and because I’m so busy with work I usually have ample time to watch it. But anyways, this episode was one that I hadn’t seen before, a bit surprising I know. Anthony visits Paris and goes to a cool little bar where he drinks a hefty amount of absinthe. This drink below is exactly how he drank absinthe in Paris, so drink up, and I hope your hallucinations don’t send you to the looney bin. Cheers!

Ingredients
-absinthe
-sugar cubes
-cold water (from the center of a glacier)
-slotted spoon

Put about an oz of absinthe in a glass. Put a sugar cube on the slotted spoon and pour 3-5oz of cold water over the sugar dissolving it so that the water is slowly and evenly displaced into the absinthe, this allows herbal aromas and flavors to blossom. It should come out cloudy this is called the louche. Drink up! (see picture above)

Ingredients

* 1 lemon(s)
* 2 ounces gin
* 1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar or some simple syrup
* club soda

Peel a whole lemon in one long spiral, this may take some culinary skills and a nice knife. Put it in a highball glass, add the gin and superfine sugar, then stir, making sure to mash the peel up against the glass to release the essential flavors. Then put in ice cubes and top off with club soda or seltzer. You can use one lemon peel for a few drinks so you don’t have to hire Anthony Bourdain as a personal peeler, although it would probably be worth the money to get drunk with him.

Conversations with Other Women
In the closing hours of a wedding reception a man and woman flirt with each other in an excitingly mysterious fashion. When they leave the reception to continue their party back in the hotel room, the playful flirtation leads to a night of passion and remorse. Recommended to me by my friend Anthony, this film is interesting and unique using an entire split screen format. From 2005 starring Aaron Eckhart and Helena Bonham Carter.

Ciao ragazzi this is a 2008 Chianti Aquila D’ Oro. For the price ($3.99 I think) you can’t go wrong with this wine; it’s smooth and well balanced with a taste that should not disappoint the average wine drinker. Here’s the run down from corked.com for you wine snobs out there- The nose has some blackberry and pepper, maybe a little anise, which went well with the fennel in the meal. The taste is at first grapey and slightly fruity-sweet; the finish more tannic and peppery. Salute!

Adventureland
In the summer of 1987 a recent college grad is forced to take a job at the local amusement park so he can save up for his dream of living in New York City. What looks to be a disaster summer for James turns out to be the time of his life. Maybe not a movie that will live on as classic cinema but I was pleasantly surprised, this movie is not just your average comedy and has some good writing, directing, and originality.
